  • Edit text

    Add text anywhere, replace a line of the page's own text, or erase it. Choose the font, size, colour and bold, and drag it where you want it.

  • Organise pages

    Insert blank pages, delete and rotate them, and drag thumbnails to reorder. Save just the pages you pick.

  • Combine and split

    Join several PDFs in one go, or split one into single pages, every few pages, or ranges such as 1-3, 4, 5-.

  • Comment and mark up

    Highlight, underline and strike out text, and add sticky notes, boxes, arrows and stamps. Acrobat and Preview see them as ordinary comments.

  • Sign

    Draw, type or place your signature, or sign with a digital ID so anyone can check who signed and that nothing has changed since.

  • Protect and redact

    Lock files with AES-256 passwords and stop printing, changes or copying. Redact removes text from the file, and Find and Redact catches every mention of a name or number.

  • Fill in forms

    Type into fields, tick boxes and choose from drop-downs. Saved files stay fillable, so others can change them too.

  • Page marks

    Put watermarks, headers and footers, page numbers and Bates numbering on every page, or just the ones you choose.

FAQ

Questions, answered

What happens when the trial ends?

proPDF becomes read-only: it still opens, reads, searches and prints PDFs, and copies text and snapshots from them. Editing, saving, splitting, emailing and signing ask for a licence key, and work again as soon as one is activated.

Does proPDF change my original file?

Not until you save. proPDF keeps your original untouched in memory and writes a fresh PDF on Save or Save As, so if you close without saving, nothing has changed.

Is Erase safe for confidential information?

No. Erase paints over text, and the words stay in the file where search and copy tools can find them. Use Redact, which removes the text, pictures and comments under its box when the file is saved.

Can other people verify my signature?

A digital signature, yes: sign with a digital ID (a .pfx or .p12 file) and Acrobat, Preview and other readers can check who signed and that the file hasn't changed since. Sign Document places a picture of your signature, which looks right but can't be verified.

Can I move my licence to another computer?

Yes. Deactivate in Help → Licence frees that computer's place on your licence, so you can activate proPDF on the new one.

How do updates work?

proPDF looks for a new version when it starts and every few hours while it runs, and asks before downloading one. Help → Check for Updates checks straight away.
